1What K-PLAZA.COM Korean Learning is

K-PLAZA.COM Korean Learning is a free website where you can learn Korean at your own level, from the Hangul alphabet all the way to TOPIK level 6. You can start right away in the browser on your phone or computer, and quizzes and typing practice make it fun to keep going.

It is part of K-PLAZA.COM, a platform for people who love Korea and the Korean language, and it is available in 20 languages so that learners around the world can study in their own language. The running costs are covered by Google AdSense advertising revenue, which is why ads appear on the web version. At the moment, all learning content is free. You do not need to sign up or pay anything.

2Three menus

• Hangul Typing: find the keys and work up to typing full sentences, starting from your very first letter.
• Learn Korean: letters, pronunciation and everyday conversation, a little at a time. Learn 600 everyday phrases grouped by situation, with romanization, meanings and usage notes.
• TOPIK prep: exam practice matched to your target level. It includes a 1,206-word TOPIK vocabulary list for levels 1 to 6, grammar quizzes, reading, listening and writing practice, mock-exam style sets and spaced-repetition review.

You can also browse themed vocabulary and explanations of 133 grammar points with example sentences.

3Learning at your own level

Not sure where to begin? Take the level check (about 3 minutes) and we will recommend a level for you. You can start at the level that suits you now (Intro, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced) and change it at any time. If you prefer a plan, choose a 1-week, 1-month, 3-month or 6-month course.

4How our content is made

All lessons, example sentences, quizzes and explanations are written specifically for this site. We do not copy textbooks, dictionaries, past exam papers or other websites.

Romanization follows the Revised Romanization system of the National Institute of Korean Language and is meant as a guide to pronunciation.

5Language support

You can choose from 20 languages in the language menu at the top of the screen. If you come across wording that sounds unnatural or wrong, please let us know through the Contact page and we will fix it.
