Sample sentences
Original sentences written for this site, each with a short note.
- 저, 선배를 좋아해요.I like you, senior.
“-를 좋아하다” means “to like ….” The person or thing you like takes the object marker “을/를,” not “이/가.”
- 나 너 좋아해.I like you.
This is a casual (반말) confession. “너” is a word for “you” used only with someone your own age or younger.
- 저랑 사귀어 주세요.Please go out with me.
“사귀다” means “to date.” “-아/어 주세요” turns it into a request.
- 저도 좋아해요.I like you too.
To answer a confession, say “좋아해요.” “좋아요” is easily taken to mean “OK, sounds good.”
- 미안해요. 우리 그냥 친구로 지내요.I’m sorry. Let’s just stay friends.
“-로 지내다” means “to be (something) to each other.” This is a standard way to turn someone down gently.
